Frequently Asked Questions:

What is CEP, and how does a school qualify?
The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is a federal program that allows eligible schools to provide free breakfast and lunch to all enrolled students without requiring household income applications. A school qualifies for CEP based on the percentage of students directly certified for free meals, typically through participation in programs such as Medicaid or SNAP.

Do I need to complete an Application for Free or Reduced-Price Meals if my student is enrolled at a CEP school?
No. All students at CEP schools receive breakfast and lunch at no cost, regardless of household income. However, families will be asked to complete a Socio-Economic Information Form (SEF) during enrollment. This form is important for determining eligibility for certain state and federal education funding programs.
