Quinton Lott Wins All Star Cast Award at the UIL One Act Play State Championship!

Universal Academy Coppell UIL ChampionshipUniversal Academy competed yesterday for the very first time at the UIL One Act Play State Championships, Conference 1A.

Our show was definitely the Little Engine That Could. With just 3 actors, 2 technicians, 2 directors, and a set of only 2 chairs, we competed against schools with huge casts and crews, massive sets, and elaborate period costumes.

Our leading actor of The Chastening, junior Quinton Lott, won the prestigious All Star Cast award for his performance of George (pictures attached). This medal is added to his collection of three Best Actor awards and one previous All Star Cast award from the District through Regional contests.

We could not be prouder of all of our actors and technicians, Quinton Lott, Fawzan Amer, Sai Vaddavalli, Shechinah Chigwende, and Kelis Wardsworth, as well as my co-director, Jimilee Rempe, for the incredible hard work they have poured into this production. Last night’s performance was their strongest yet, and those actors put their hearts and souls out their on the stage, and the technicians did their jobs impeccably.

History has been made!
